Lake Rwihinda, known as the Lake of Birds, is a nature reserve whose migratory birds are its main attraction. You can take a pirogue out to Akagwa, the islet in the middle of the lake, and meet the local fishing communities. Bring binoculars and go early for the best birdwatching.
